The Odessa Family YMCA is committed to providing quality programs and services that meet the needs of our individuals and families. We have a variety of youth programs including tee-ball, soccer, basketball, flag football and cheerleading. We also provide two sessions of youth summer camp. We provide childcare services at three of our locations that care for children from as young as 6 weeks old to as old as 12 years old. We also provide a monthly hyigene closet that is free and open to the public.

The Odessa Family YMCA knows the importance for its youth development, for healthy living and for social responsibility. We believe a strong community can only be achieved when we invest in our kids, our health and our neighbors. We bring people together of all ages and backgrounds to bridge the gap in community needs, and believe everyone should have the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.
At the Odessa Family YMCA, our youth sports programs emphasize fun, participation, safety, teamwork, healthy competition and family involvement. Kids as young as 3-years-old can participate in specific sports programs. All teams are organized on a neighborhood basis as much as possible and will practice once or twice a week. All practice sites, days, and times for each sport are determined by the coach at the coaches workshop. Game equipment is provided and the rules are modified to accommodate the young athletes.
The Odessa Family YMCA partners with House of the Sycamore Tree to provide an opportunity for our special needs community to focus on exercise and reinforce healthy life choices. Participants enhance their socialization, organizational and other daily living skills. They engage in creative activities, fitness classes, and social activities.
Community Services
On the first Friday of every month, Superior Healthplan partners with the Odessa Family YMCA as we host our Hygiene Closet that is free and open to the public. The closet opens at 1 p.m. and closes at 3 p.m. We provide each person with a “YMCA” branded reuseable bag that can be filled with items from our two closets. We have personal hygiene products including femine hygiene, baby supplies, cleaning supplies and laundry soaps.
In partnership with the Ector County Independent School District, the Odessa YMCA Learning Center teaches Frog Street curriculum. The children are taught how to listen, read and write. They also learn how to problem solve and be creative through arts and crafts. We have three locations that offer childcare services from as young as 6 weeks old to as old as 12 years old.
The Odessa Family YMCA hosts two three-week summer camp sessions in June and July. Summer camp includes team building exercises, arts and crafts, field trips and time at the pool. Team building exercises included dodgeball, tug-o-war, basketball and obstacle courses. Some of the field trips the Y Campers have previously went on has been to the Odessa Fire Rescue Station, Gattiland, Cinergy and Diamond Bowling Lanes. The arts and crafts made were tye dye shirts, bracelets, backpacks and Father’s Day gifts.
